Cottey is an Independent Liberal Arts and Sciences College for Women.  The P.E.O. Sisterhood accepted the College as a gift from our Founder in 1927. The P.E.O. Sisterhood, a philanthropic educational organization, is dedicated to providing excellent educational and leadership opportunities for women.

*Cottey is ranked as a Top 10 Best Regional colleges in the Midwest by US News and World Report 2024.
*The Residential Student Capacity at Cottey is 350 and typically represents 40 states and 20 countries.  As of the fall of 2023 the student enrollment was 266 with 37 states and 9 countries represented in the Student Body.  Student enrollments Fall of 2024 is 261.
*The average Class Size is 7.
*There are 30 Clubs and Student Organizations.
*8 NAIA sports (Volleyball, Basketball, Flag Football, Softball, Esports, Cross Country, Track and Field and Golf) are offered at Cottey with Cheer, Dance, and Bowling coming in 2024-2025.
*All Students have the opportunity to travel abroad on a one-week international experience. Cottey covers the airfare, lodging and group excursions, making this a truly distinct program!

P.E.O.’s continued support of Cottey through potential student referrals, the support of current Cottey students, generous contributions and gifts helps sustain the success of Cottey College. It is imperative that student enrollment and retaining students through graduation are significant to sustainability. P.E.O must continue employing creative recruitment strategies.  There are funds available from the state board, Cottey Visit Fund, for prospective students who may be interested in visiting Cottey College.
